🤝 At the meeting, the parties agreed to select workers from the population of the Tashkent region on the basis of a seasonal work visa E-8 and attract them to work in the agricultural sector in the provincial districts of Hapchon, Chongnyang and the city of Miryang for a period of 8 months (5+3).
📝 A bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the Migration Agency and Geongsangnam-do Province on attracting seasonal agricultural labor.
🔖Previously, during negotiations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of Korea, an agreement was reached to re-engage our citizens in the E-8 seasonal labor program. The document signed today is a practical stage of this agreement.
📃According to the Korean Ministry of Justice, such agreements must clearly specify the regions sending and receiving the workforce.
🗓 On September 23-25 of this year, within the framework of the working visit of the Governor of Geongsangnam-do Province to the Tashkent region, a memorandum of friendship was signed between the two regions. The cooperation agreement signed with the Migration Agency on October 14 stipulates the selection of workers from the population of the Tashkent region for seasonal work in the above-mentioned regions.
📌 In a pilot mode, it is planned to obtain workforce requests from 3 regions of the province, and from 2026, it is planned to expand cooperation to other regions depending on the discipline and efficiency of Uzbek workers.
🌾 As is known, in 2021, Uzbekistan became the first country to send workers to Korea through the E-8 visa, and 420 citizens worked on a pilot project. However, this visa program was suspended by the Korean side, as some workers did not return to their homeland even after the expiration of the 5-month contract.
🤝 Based on numerous requests from our citizens, as a result of several years of negotiations between the responsible organizations of the two countries, the Korean government has decided to reopen this opportunity, and we ask you to make the most of it!
⚠️️Our citizens are requested to strictly comply with the terms of the employment contract and Korean legislation, and to return to their homeland within the established timeframe. This is an important factor related to expanding or, conversely, limiting employment opportunities for other citizens in the future.
🕓 In November-December of this year, it was agreed to receive applications and candidates for vacant positions from the khokimiyats of the employing districts of Korea. A separate announcement about this will be published on the Telegram channel of the Migration Agency "WORK ABROAD".
