Director of the Migration Agency Muhsinxo‘ja Abdurahmonov met with Andrew Gray, a representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The discussions focused not on organizing new events, but on transforming existing cooperation into a system that delivers tangible results for citizens.
🔹A new approach from 2027. In line with the requirements of foreign employers, plans are underway to expand targeted language and vocational training for citizens over a period of 3–6 months, as well as increase the number of qualified professionals sent abroad.
🔹A practical step towards Sweden. Based on the agreement between the two countries, it was decided to develop a pilot labour mobility mechanism and study the systems for issuing work permits and identifying workforce needs.
🔹Comprehensive preparation before going abroad. Alongside language and vocational training, efforts will be strengthened to provide educational and practical preparation in labour rights, financial literacy, understanding employment contracts and working conditions, and protection against online fraud and cyber threats. The INTIL Centre will serve as one of the main training venues in this process.
Andrew Gray noted that interest among foreign countries and employers in specialists from Uzbekistan is growing.
Key conclusion of the meeting: the effectiveness of cooperation will be measured not by the number of events held, but by the practical results achieved in citizens’ lives.
