✔️The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis discussed a bill aimed at protecting children from all forms of violence. The deputies unanimously supported the bill and adopted it in the first reading.

✔️As noted during the discussions, the bill is aimed not only at strengthening penalties, but also at establishing a comprehensive legal mechanism to protect children from violence. In particular, the bill proposes strengthening liability for persons who commit violence, providing legal, psychological and other assistance to affected children, as well as increasing the responsibility of relevant government bodies and organizations.

✔️The bill also addresses the prevention of psychological pressure on children resulting from repeated questioning during criminal proceedings. It was noted that existing procedural safeguards include the participation of a legal representative, teacher and psychologist when questioning a minor victim, limitations on the duration of questioning, as well as the use of specially equipped rooms for certain categories of cases.

The bill was introduced by the faction of the «Adolat» Social Democratic Party in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
