During his visit to Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the projects being implemented in the leather and footwear small industrial zone in Altynkul district.

In our country, particular attention is being paid to the deep processing of leather raw materials, the production of finished products for export, and the provision of the domestic market with high-quality and affordable footwear.
The President’s resolution “On measures to further stimulate the development of the leather and footwear and fur industries and increase export potential” serves as an important legal basis in this area.
The small industrial zone in Altynkul district is a single industrial complex bringing together entrepreneurs, craftsmen and clusters producing leather products and finished footwear in the Fergana Valley. A complete chain is being formed here, from the processing of raw materials to the production and sale of finished products.
The total area of the complex is 10.1 hectares, while the value of the projects amounts to $28 million. Modern production buildings, a dual education center and retail outlets have been built on 5.5 hectares of the territory.
A total of 17 projects with a total production capacity of 150 billion soums are being implemented in the industrial zone. Of these, 10 specialize in the production of footwear and soles, 2 in artificial leather, and 2 in shoe adhesives. Within the remaining projects, the production of rubber footwear, uppers for specialized footwear and leather processing will be established.
To date, 2,500 new jobs have been created at the complex.
The products manufactured here are exported to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Specialists who have undergone professional training in Türkiye, China and Italy have been engaged in production. Their experience contributes to improving the quality and competitiveness of the products.
In order to support the development of the industry, entrepreneurs have been provided with a number of benefits and opportunities. In particular, production buildings and facilities constructed according to their requirements are sold with payment in installments for up to seven years.
The President reviewed samples of the products manufactured at the complex and paid particular attention to the economic efficiency and export potential of the projects.
During the meeting with entrepreneurs, recommendations were given on improving product quality, mastering modern designs and expanding the geography of exports. Instructions were also given to responsible officials on further improving the conditions created for industry representatives and combining local handicraft traditions with modern industrial methods.
