President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the technopark in Khojaabad District and familiarized himself with the production process of “smart” water meters.

Andijan is one of the country’s smaller regions by area and one of the most densely populated. Therefore, particular attention is being paid to the efficient use of every piece of land, the development of foothill areas, and the establishment of new industrial sites.
The “Andijan Technopark”, established in Khojaabad District with $300 million in foreign investment, is one of these major projects. A total of 51 industrial enterprises are planned to be located on a 100-hectare site allocated through the development of foothill areas.
Once the industrial zone is fully operational, 3,000 new jobs will be created. More than 50 types of products worth $200 million will be produced annually, generating 160 billion soums in budget revenues. The region’s export potential will increase by $50 million.
A “smart” water meter manufacturing plant has been established in the industrial zone by China’s “Sanchuan” company. The $25 million project is being implemented entirely through foreign investment. Eighty percent of the production processes at the plant are robotized.
The “smart” meters based on 5G technology, produced in cooperation with “Huawei”, enable online monitoring of water consumption and quality, the technical condition of devices, and the balance.
The plant will produce 1 million “smart” water meters of 15 types annually. They are manufactured with a special design that prevents water accumulation and with a frost-resistant casing.
A dual education program has also been introduced here.
The level of localization is planned to reach 70 percent by 2030. To this end, enterprises producing components and spare parts will be located within the industrial zone.
