Uzbek Citizens Will Now Be Recruited for Employment in Sweden

According to the Migration Agency, the documents signed between the two countries constitute a state-guaranteed legal framework regulating opportunities for Uzbek citizens to legally work, study, and reside in Sweden.
Under the agreement:
• cooperation will be established to prepare qualified specialists for the Swedish labor market in the fields of healthcare, engineering, services, and caregiving;
• mechanisms will be created to connect Uzbek candidates with Swedish employers;
• academic exchange opportunities for students, doctoral candidates, and young researchers will be expanded;
• additional guarantees will be introduced to protect the rights of migration participants and their family members;
• visa procedures will be simplified, and a 30-day visa-free regime will be introduced for holders of diplomatic passports;
• joint mechanisms to combat irregular migration, human trafficking, and document forgery will be strengthened.
In addition, with the participation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a pilot program will be implemented to assess the needs of the Swedish labor market and launch Swedish language and vocational training programs.
