Uzbekistan Reached New Agreements with the United States on Labor Migration

The delegation of Uzbekistan held a number of meetings with international organizations and companies within the framework of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) held in New York, USA. This was reported by the Migration Agency.
In his speech at the forum, the head of the agency, Behzod Musayev, spoke about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of migration, the system of professional and language training, as well as the results of international cooperation. He emphasized that migration should be viewed not only as an economic necessity, but also as an investment in human capital.
In addition, issues related to protecting the rights of citizens working abroad and organizational matters concerning the International Migration Forum planned to be held in Tashkent were discussed with Ugochi Daniels, Deputy Director General of the International Organization for Migration.
A cooperation agreement was signed with Logan University in the United States on targeted training of medical workers for the American labor market, launching joint educational programs, and developing human resources.
Furthermore, representatives of Missouri Trucking School discussed mechanisms for training and employing truck drivers according to U.S. standards based on a special 160-hour program.
Issues related to expanding seasonal employment programs and organizing a labor forum with employer participation were discussed with the U.S. National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE). An agreement was also reached with Head Honchos on processing H-2A visas, promoting the potential of Uzbek specialists in the U.S. agricultural sector, and launching 8–10 week preparatory programs.
Negotiations were also held with the Ballon Stoll law firm regarding employment opportunities in the United States through O, H-2A, H-2B, H-1B, and E visas, as well as strengthening the legal protection of Uzbek citizens working there.
At the end of March 2026, Uzbekistan received the first applications under the U.S. seasonal work program. Citizens will be sent to seasonal jobs lasting 9–10 months with an average monthly salary of 3,500 USD. Accommodation will be provided free of charge by employers. Priority will be given to qualified specialists.
