Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry is tasked with developing priority directions for the socio-economic development of the country in the medium and long term, taking into account inter-sectoral interaction and balance in the budgetary, tax, and customs spheres, pension provision for citizens, accounting and financial reporting, regulation of auditing activities, financing of budgetary organizations and recipients of budgetary funds, pricing of goods and services of monopolistic enterprises, and regulation of public procurement. It is the authorized republican executive body responsible for ensuring the achievement of strategic macroeconomic indicators and parameters of the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry is subordinate to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In its activities, the Ministry is guided by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees, resolutions, and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, documents of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, other legislative acts, as well as its Regulation.

Decisions made by the Ministry within its competence and of a regulatory nature are mandatory for execution by state and economic management bodies, local government authorities, other organizations and their officials, as well as legal entities and individuals.

The Ministry is a legal entity. It has a seal and letterheads bearing the State Emblem and its name in the state language, personal treasury accounts, and bank accounts, including foreign currency accounts.

The Ministry carries out its activities in accordance with legislative acts, independently of republican executive bodies and local self-government bodies.
