Citizens’ right to access state information is guaranteed by the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The normative-legal basis of this right is formed by the following documents:

The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
The Law “On Mass Media”;
The Law “On the Principles and Guarantees of Freedom of Information”;
The Law “On Guarantees and Freedom of Access to Information”;
The Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Additional Measures to Ensure the Independence of Mass Media and to Develop the Activities of Information Services of State Bodies and Organizations.”

These documents serve to ensure citizens’ freedom to obtain information and to increase the openness of the activities of state bodies.
