A cooperation agreement on the development of a green economy was signed with the UN Development Programme

Within the framework of the forum, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Umid Abidkhadjaev and UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Regional Director for Europe and CIS Countries Ivana Zivkovic signed a cooperation agreement on attracting grant funds totaling 1.8 million US dollars for the implementation of projects in the field of "green" economy.
These grant funds will be used to implement projects in Uzbekistan in such areas as conducting energy audits, increasing the energy efficiency of social facilities, budgeting for the Sustainable Development Goals, and decarbonizing the cement industry.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on jointly implemented projects between Uzbekistan and the UN Development Programme, their results, and prospects for further cooperation.
This agreement will serve to accelerate practical work on the development of a green economy and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan.
