"Green" public procurement will contribute to the improvement of the ecological environment

The round table was attended by representatives of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Uzbekistan Agency for Technical Regulation, international financial institutions, and more than 100 entrepreneurs.
At this event, measures were presented aimed at encouraging the use of environmentally friendly products in public procurement, increasing the proportion of products made from recycled raw materials, and protecting the environment.
The reforms being implemented by the government to adapt the public procurement system to environmental principles, current approaches, and future plans were also discussed. Representatives of international financial institutions shared advanced foreign practices and innovative approaches to addressing environmental issues.
During the event, mechanisms for supporting "green" procurement, a unified voluntary labeling system for eco-friendly products, as well as the implementation of "green" technologies in production processes were thoroughly examined.
Participants exchanged views on the effectiveness of the eco-labeling system for products and its potential to reduce negative environmental impacts through implementation.
Business entities actively participating in the event shared practical information about their experiences in applying "green" technologies in production processes and the characteristics of market demand for environmentally friendly products.
At the conclusion of the roundtable, the importance of enhancing the qualifications of employees responsible for public procurement was emphasized as crucial for the successful implementation of "green" public procurement. Representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance provided detailed information on ongoing efforts in this area and future plans.
This event served as an important platform for effective dialogue and exchange of experiences among entrepreneurs, government customers, and international experts. This, in turn, became one of the significant steps towards ensuring environmental sustainability in our country.
