For reference: BAT Uzbekistan (British American Tobacco Uzbekistan) is one of the leading enterprises in the country’s tobacco industry and is part of the international company British American Tobacco (BAT), which was founded in the United Kingdom. The company began its operations in Uzbekistan in 1994.
The foreign delegation included Wael Sabra, Area Director Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa covering Middle East, South Asia, North Africa, Central Asia & Caucasus; Temur Gadaibaev, General Director of JV “UZBAT A.O.” JSC; Mona Iskandarani, Area Head of Legal & Corporate and Regulatory Affairs APMEA WEST; Sergey Krasovsky, Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs of BAT Uzbekistan; and Alisher Bekkulbekov, Advisor to the General Director of JV “UZBAT A.O.” JSC on corporate affairs.
On the Uzbek side, participants included Mubin Mirzaev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Committee; Utkir Kobilov, Head of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market Regulation Inspectorate under the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at the General Prosecutor’s Office; as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of prospects for long-term cooperation and strategic initiatives for business development in Uzbekistan. During the dialogue, representatives of the international company highly appreciated the transformational processes taking place in the country, as well as the progress in improving the business climate and creating favorable conditions for foreign investors.
The company’s leadership emphasized Uzbekistan’s strategic importance as a key market in the Central Asian region and expressed readiness for long-term partnership.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue constructive dialogue and joint efforts to develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
