The first phase of the visit took place in Kuala Lumpur, where the delegation visited Malaysia’s IC Design Park complex and MIMOS Berhad, one of the key partners in this field, to learn about their activities.
During the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with MIMOS Berhad’s laboratories and technological infrastructure for semiconductor wafer production, microelectronic device prototyping, integrated circuit testing, and reliability assessment.
The delegation also participated in the Selangor AI & Semiconductor Summit 2026. On the sidelines of the summit, meetings were held with a number of organizations operating in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors, and potential areas for future cooperation were discussed.
One of the key outcomes of the visit was the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Uzbek and Malaysian organizations and higher education institutions.
In particular, MoUs were signed between Uzbekistan’s ToshTech Technical University and Malaysia’s ASEM Academy and Great ASIC; as well as between Uzbekistan’s Cyber University and Malaysia’s Asia e University (AeU), Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), and AlphaSwift.
These agreements are intended to support the training of qualified specialists for the semiconductor industry, advance research and practical projects, facilitate the exchange of expertise in advanced technologies, and strengthen links between education and industry.
The second phase of the Uzbek delegation’s working visit to Malaysia is currently continuing in Penang.
