The Register of Public-Interest Entities Has Been Updated
2026-10-12 14:30:00 / News of ministry

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has updated the Register of Public-Interest Entities (PIEs) following monitoring conducted to assess compliance with the established criteria. As a result, the number of entities in the Register has increased from 425 to 449. A total of 24 entities meeting the criteria have been included in the Register for the first time.
The update aims to ensure the regular identification of entities that are important to the public interest, reassess their status against the established criteria, and maintain the accuracy and relevance of the Register's information.
During the monitoring process, it was established that 17 entities already listed in the Register no longer meet the established criteria. However, pursuant to paragraph 18 of the Regulation “On the Criteria for Classifying Entities as Public-Interest Entities and the Requirements for Their Financial Reporting and Audit” (registration No. 3736, dated 27 December 2025), an entity found to be non-compliant with the criteria remains in the Register for the next two years. This arrangement helps ensure continuity in meeting requirements related to reporting, auditing, and corporate governance.
The regular updating of the Register is aimed at enhancing the transparency and quality of financial reporting and auditing, monitoring the activities of entities whose operations affect public and investor interests, improving corporate governance, and expanding the scope of application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The updated Register is available on the Government portal at the following link:
Register of Public-Interest Entities (PIEs)
Public-Interest Entities included in the Register in 2026 are required to organise their accounting in accordance with IFRS starting from 1 January 2027. By the end of the second year, i.e. by the end of 2028, they must prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and publish them together with the corresponding audit opinions. This requirement does not apply to legal entities for which an earlier deadline for transitioning to IFRS has been established by legislative acts. These requirements are set out in Resolution No. PQ–282 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 15 September 2025 and the Regulation.
