During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, particularly in agriculture, efficient water resources management, development of desert and pasture areas, introduction of modern irrigation technologies, and scientific research.

Particular attention was paid to the outcomes of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to the Arab Republic of Egypt on September 15–20 of this year. During the visit, the delegation studied Egypt’s practical experience in water resources management, development of new lands, modern irrigation technologies, seed production, livestock breeding, and the efficient use of desert areas.

The meeting also focused on strengthening ties with Egyptian research institutions and launching joint studies in water-saving technologies, hydrology and modelling, GIS and remote sensing, climate change, and water reuse. The importance of moving previously reached agreements on the exchange of experience between Uzbekistan and Egypt into the practical implementation stage was emphasized.

The parties also considered prospects for implementing pilot projects in Uzbekistan aimed at restoring pastures and unused land, applying modern irrigation solutions, and developing seed production and livestock breeding. Based on Egypt’s experience, proposals have been developed to initially implement pilot projects covering 20,000 hectares.

The participants exchanged views on organizing reciprocal visits of specialists and researchers, developing joint projects, and strengthening scientific and practical cooperation. In particular, plans envisage involving experts from leading Egyptian research institutions in practical activities in Uzbekistan related to pasture development, efficient water use, and the science-based development of livestock breeding.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to develop concrete joint projects, intensify contacts between experts, and further advance Uzbekistan–Egypt cooperation in the identified areas.
