2026-09-28 20:20:00 / News of ministry

Taking place from 28 September to 1 October, the conference serves as an important scientific platform for discussing semiconductor physics, microelectronics, advanced technologies, and opportunities to strengthen international cooperation in these fields.
The conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “UzEltekhSanoat” Association, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Ministry of Digital Technologies, Council of Physicists of Uzbekistan, Asian Development Bank, as well as other international partners.
The event brings together 55 foreign scientists and specialists and nearly 100 Uzbek scientists. The participation of representatives of the international and national scientific communities provides an opportunity to exchange expertise in advanced semiconductor technologies, strengthen scientific ties, and discuss potential areas for future cooperation.
Prospects for the Development of Microelectronics and the Semiconductor Industry
On the first day of the conference, international experts discussed key issues related to the development of modern microelectronics and the semiconductor industry.
In particular, representatives of Siemens EDA (Germany), GreatAsic Technology (Malaysia), the Asian Development Bank, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) discussed international experience and best practices in developing the microelectronics industry, the role and opportunities of the semiconductor sector within global value chains, as well as the design of integrated circuits and the adoption of advanced technological solutions.
The discussions also covered international experience in applying artificial intelligence technologies to semiconductor and microelectronics development, improving modern chip design processes, and strengthening research and engineering capabilities.
Particular attention was paid to the experience of different countries in developing their semiconductor industries, global technological trends, and opportunities for expanding international scientific and technological cooperation in this field.
These discussions provided an important opportunity to explore, from an international perspective, the prospects for advancing semiconductor physics, microelectronics, chip design, research and development, and high-tech workforce training in Uzbekistan.
Strengthening Cooperation between Science, Technology and Industry
One of the key aspects of the conference is strengthening the links between fundamental scientific research and practical technological development.
Advances in semiconductor physics and microelectronics are closely connected with a wide range of modern industries, including digital technologies, telecommunications, automotive, energy, and other high-tech sectors.
In this regard, the exchange of international expertise within the framework of the conference provides an important platform for advancing scientific research, exploring modern technologies, developing highly qualified specialists, and strengthening cooperation between academia and industry.
For Uzbekistan, studying international experience in this area also creates an opportunity to further discuss development prospects in semiconductors, microelectronics, integrated circuit design, research and development, and high-tech manufacturing.
The international conference will continue through 1 October 2026. During the following days, participants will continue exchanging views and experience on semiconductor physics, microelectronics, scientific cooperation, technological development, and new opportunities for industry.
