Industry Decarbonization Program: Uzbekistan moves to the final stage of its investment plan

The main purpose of the mission was to jointly review the updated draft of the investment plan developed under the program, hold consultations with stakeholders, and agree on next steps for submitting the document to CIF on time.
The first day was attended by international partner organizations and relevant ministries and agencies. Ministry representatives presented the updated draft of the investment plan, covering its priority areas, investment needs and concessional financing mechanisms. This was followed by a separate presentation on gender equality, social inclusion and just transition in implementing the program, and a discussion on incorporating participants' comments and recommendations into the document.
The second day was dedicated to discussions with industrial enterprises, associations and financial institutions. During a roundtable, representatives of companies and banks shared their views on how well the investment plan reflects the barriers to implementing decarbonization projects, investment opportunities and the support measures needed, and on how this part of the plan could be strengthened further.
On the final day, the proposals raised by participants over the previous days were analyzed, and options for reflecting them in the investment plan were considered. Next steps were also set for finalizing the investment plan and submitting it to CIF on time.
