It was noted that demand for services related to determining fineness and applying the state hallmark has been steadily increasing in recent years.
During the press conference, it was emphasized that licensing and permitting procedures in the field of precious metals and gemstones have been fully digitalized, while public services are being delivered electronically without human intervention. As of September 1, 2026, the number of business entities operating with precious metals and gemstones in the Republic stood at 2,911. The event also provided information on measures being implemented to ensure compliance with legislation, prevent violations, and combat corruption in the sector.
During the event, appeals received from individuals and legal entities were reviewed in detail, with particular emphasis placed on ensuring strict control over the implementation of decisions. Detailed information was also provided on the consistent measures being undertaken to ensure compliance with the law in the sector, prevent violations, and combat corruption, particularly everyday corruption.
The Inspection also regularly conducts preventive measures aimed at preventing violations in the sector. In particular, 1,500 preventive activities were carried out in 2024, 1,679 in 2025, and 1,169 during the reporting period of the current year. Open dialogues, seminars, and awareness-raising activities are being organized for entrepreneurs across the regions, with extensive efforts undertaken to promote the requirements of applicable legislation.
In particular, efforts to digitalize licensing procedures, introduce video surveillance systems into service delivery processes, and conduct regulatory inspections using modern technical equipment were highlighted.
The press conference concluded with an open dialogue involving representatives of the mass media and entrepreneurs, during which proposals and recommendations aimed at further developing the sector were discussed.
