Cooperation issues concerning landlocked developing countries were discussed

At the meeting, Umid Abidkhadjayev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Damdin-Od Dulguun, Executive Director of “ITTLLDC”, participated. Representatives of the Ministry’s central office, the Green Economy Project Center under the Ministry, the Institute for Fiscal Analysis, Reduction of the Informal Economy, and Improvement of Tax and Customs Administration, as well as the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers also took part in the meeting.
During the discussions, issues related to developing the transport and logistics potential of landlocked developing countries, expanding their integration into international transport corridors, reducing trade costs, and strengthening regional connectivity were considered.
The participants also exchanged views on the priority areas of the ITTLLDC’s activities, including the development of transport and transit corridors, economic diversification, digital transformation, and strengthening institutional capacity.
Particular attention was paid to enhancing Uzbekistan’s transit and transport-logistics potential, diversifying foreign trade routes, and strengthening regional connectivity.
The meeting also addressed ways to develop cooperation between the ITTLLDC and Uzbekistan’s Development Strategy Center, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, and the Institute for Advanced International Studies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the areas of transport and logistics, trade and economic development, and analytical research.
