The meeting addressed current issues related to improving the system of state regulation of audit activities, developing external oversight mechanisms, and applying modern supervisory tools in the audit sector. Information was also presented on the Russian Federal Treasury’s practices for external oversight of audit activities, the work of its territorial bodies, and the institutional mechanisms established in this area.

The parties also reviewed the Russian experience in remote monitoring mechanisms and in overseeing auditors’ compliance with legislative requirements in the area of combating the legalization of proceeds from criminal activities.

Following the discussions, the parties emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation in the regulation of audit activities and external oversight, studying advanced practices, and further intensifying mutual exchange of experience.

For reference: On 21 December 2023, a Cooperation Programme for 2024–2026 was approved between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Treasury Service Committee under the Ministry, and the Federal Treasury of Russia (Russian Federal Treasury). The programme includes joint activities aimed at exchanging experience in state oversight of audit activities and in ensuring auditors’ compliance with legislative requirements in the area of combating the legalization of proceeds from criminal activities.
