On July 28-29 of this year, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), held two-day events in the Namangan region on the topic "Towards a Future-Ready Economy: New Opportunities and Strategic Approaches." It was attended by local authorities, higher education institutions, IT Park residents, entrepreneurs, and startup founders.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with Shavkat Shokirdjanovich, Governor of the Namangan Region, to discuss strategic priorities for advancing the regional economy through the adoption of artificial intelligence, innovation, and emerging technologies.
In addition, nearly 15 district governor's advisers and startup founders presented more than 35 artificial intelligence projects. International expert Samer Chidiac evaluated the projects' business models, practical value, and growth potential, while providing tailored recommendations to support their further development.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Situation Management Center of the Namangan Regional Administration, Megaton enterprise, the Namangan Regional Branch of IT Park Uzbekistan, and innovative research and development facilities at Namangan State Technical University.
On the second day of the program, a seminar was held with the participation of more than 100 researchers, entrepreneurs, and startup founders, focusing on global technological transformation, emerging business models, and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
The meetings and discussions established a new platform for dialogue among academia, business, and the public sector in the Namangan Region. This initiative is expected to facilitate the transformation of promising ideas into well-developed, economically viable, and investment-ready projects, thereby contributing to the region's sustainable economic development.
