No book has ever been written for one who does not read,
No wisdom has ever been spoken for one who does not listen.

Books have long been humanity’s closest companions, sharpening the mind and guiding the heart toward goodness. For this reason, scholars and enlightened thinkers have consistently encouraged people to read, acquire knowledge, and explore the principles of ethics, morality, and intellectual development. Indeed, books broaden one’s worldview, enhance critical thinking, and enrich one’s spiritual life.
Today, increasing attention is being paid in our country to fostering a culture of reading. The active participation of book lovers of all ages in bookstores, libraries, and various educational events demonstrates the growing interest of our people in reading. This, in turn, serves as an important factor in elevating the spiritual and intellectual development of society and in raising a knowledgeable and broad-minded younger generation.
Special attention has also been given to this issue in Resolution No. PQ-9 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated January 15, 2026, “On Measures to Develop a Reading Culture and Increase Public Interest in Reading.” In accordance with the Resolution, all government institutions are tasked with establishing “Book Corners”, where scientific, educational, spiritual, and literary publications relevant to their respective fields are to be made available.
To ensure the implementation of this directive, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in cooperation with the “O‘zbekiston” Publishing and Printing Creative House, organized a book fair. The exhibition featured publications on economics and finance, examples of Uzbek and world literature, children’s books, as well as spiritual and educational works. During the event, employees purchased books they found interesting and useful, thereby making a meaningful contribution to promoting a culture of reading.
Such spiritual and educational initiatives contribute to enhancing the social and moral atmosphere within institutions and organizations, promoting reading habits, and encouraging the productive use of employees’ leisure time.
