The practical seminar on the implementation of internal control systems in the public sector held

As part of the project, systematic efforts are being carried out to strengthen the public internal control and internal audit systems in Uzbekistan.
From 8 to 11 June this year, a seminar was held at the Training Center under the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the participation of international expert Andra Larin and PwC specialists. The event brought together managers, heads of structural divisions and employees of state bodies and organizations in both in-person and online formats.
During the seminar, international experts delivered presentations based on the Internal Control – Integrated Framework on the topics “Internal Control in the Public Sector: Management and Governance Responsibility” and “Practical Aspects of Implementing Internal Control Systems in State Bodies and Organizations”.
The presentations covered the importance of establishing internal control systems, the role and responsibilities of management, accountability mechanisms, risk management, monitoring of internal control systems, as well as challenges that may arise in the course of public internal control reforms and approaches to addressing them.
In addition, participants and experts engaged in discussions and practical exercises based on case studies related to real-life situations in the field.
The seminar provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views and discuss key issues concerning the development of internal control systems. The parties also emphasized the importance of continuing such capacity-building and knowledge-sharing activities in the future.
