The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, GIZ, and UzAgrostar Holding, as well as other officials.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed projects implemented in the field of master plans in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and GIZ, as well as future plans.
Furthermore, during the meeting, it was noted that comprehensive development master plans (strategies) for 12 districts had been developed using grant funds previously allocated by GIZ within this partnership, and 24 pilot projects were highly commended.
In particular, it was noted that within the framework of these projects, a grant of 1.3 million euros was allocated for an agritourism complex established on 500 hectares in the Shahrisabz district, vocational training centers in the Amudarya, Chimboy, Bulung'ur, Kattaqo'rg'on, Mirishkor, Khiva, and Hazorasp districts, intensive fish farming projects, energy-saving heat pumps installed in social facilities, and IT and craftsmanship centers.
To elevate the work initiated on the master plans to a new practical level, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the GIZ Office in Uzbekistan signed an "Implementation Agreement" for 2026–2029. This agreement, funded by a 9 million euro grant, covers the development of master plans and the financing of green pilot projects.
Within this cooperation, work will continue in the following areas:
Utilizing artificial intelligence and innovative analytical methods in the development and implementation of master plans;
Continuing the implementation of green pilot projects based on the master plans developed for 12 districts;
Implementing pilot projects based on master plans (strategies) in the additional districts of Bahmal, Boysun, and So'x with the involvement of foreign and local experts;
Organizing seminars and training sessions within the framework of "capacity building" programs to enhance the skills of Project Office staff and private sector representatives in developing and implementing master plans;
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further develop their mutual cooperation and to carry out systematic and effective activities toward the established goals.
