The meeting was attended by Kamil Özdemir, Head of the Agricultural Insurance and Natural Disasters Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s General Directorate of Agricultural Reform and Chairman of the Board of the TARSIM Insurance Pool; Burhan Demirok, Counsellor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Uzbekistan; and relevant officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
 

For reference: In April 2025, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Agricultural Risk Insurance” was adopted to fundamentally improve the system for protecting agricultural producers from various risks. In addition, in November, a new institution responsible for sector governance—the Agricultural Insurance Fund—was established.
 

During the meeting, taking into account the impact of climate change on agriculture, the parties discussed future priority tasks aimed at ensuring the stable, risk-based operation of the insurance system in our country.
 

In the course of the negotiations, particular attention was paid to the following:
 

• improving the qualifications of specialists in the field of agricultural insurance;
• ensuring high efficiency at all stages of the insurance process (including application processing, damage assessment, and the execution of insurance payouts).
   

The Turkish side highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in our country and expressed readiness to organize training courses for Uzbek specialists under the “TARSIM” Pool.
 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to adopt a joint “Roadmap” to ensure the systematic continuation of cooperation and the implementation of the planned measures.
