From 58 to 13,386 votes: “Participatory Budget” winners announced.

The first season of the 2026 “Participatory Budget” process has concluded. The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced the list of winning projects late on March 21.
In total, 10.284 million votes were cast nationwide, and 1,996 projects (1,980 traditional and 16 co-financed) worth 3.005 trillion UZS were selected as winners. The maximum value of a single project in this season reached 1.648 billion UZS (4,000 base calculation units).
The highest number of votes — 13,386 — went to a project from Kokdala district. Notably, six of the top 10 most-voted projects came from Kushkupir district in Khorezm region, and three from Akdarya district in Samarkand region, indicating strong competition in these areas.
Meanwhile, a project from Muynak district in Karakalpakstan won with the lowest number of votes — just 58. This was an initiative by Sultanbek Rasbergenov to install street lighting.
Overall, most winning projects focused on repairing internal roads (868), upgrading and renovating schools (566), and improving healthcare facilities (163).
Videos circulating online show residents of winning neighborhoods celebrating with festivities, entertainment, and fireworks. Some communities even prepared in advance with decorations, cakes, and themed characters.
For reference, the first season began on February 1. Project submissions took place from February 1–20, selection from February 21 to March 7, promotion from March 8–10, and voting concluded on March 20.
