Final Meeting Held as Part of the International Monetary Fund Mission

The meeting was attended by Alexandro Simone, Senior Economist at the IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department; Koba Gvenetadze, Head of the IMF Resident Representative Office in Uzbekistan; as well as Timur Ishmetov, Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Behzod Khamroyev, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee; and other officials.
During the dialogue, the parties held a detailed exchange of views on the ongoing economic and financial reforms in the country, including results achieved in ensuring macroeconomic stability and a steady reduction of inflation, as well as established priorities.
In particular, the discussions focused on the following issues:
· further accelerating economic and financial reforms and strengthening macroeconomic stability;
· keeping the inflation rate under strict control;
· ensuring the effective organization of budget processes, optimizing budget indicators, and further improving the public finance management system;
· further improving customs and tax administration.
· accelerating privatization processes in the economy and expanding the role of the private sector.
In turn, IMF representatives positively assessed the economic growth rates and future development directions in Uzbekistan, specifically noting that macroeconomic indicators are steadily growing despite global economic uncertainties.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation, continue a constructive dialogue on priority areas of economic policy, and expand the exchange of experience.
