The international forum “Central Asia: From Productivity to Prosperity. Regional Dialogue” was successfully held

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Secretary General of the Asian Productivity Organization, Indra Pradana Singavinata, the Director of the World Bank for Central Asia, Najy Benhassine, and the Program Manager of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Beate Schoreit, spoke and outlined priority areas for expanding regional cooperation, introducing innovations, and developing human capital.
Within the framework of the forum, advanced international and domestic experience on the widespread introduction of artificial intelligence into the economy, increasing individual productivity through the development of human capital, and increasing efficiency as a result of the application of modern solutions and technologies in agricultural and agro-industrial enterprises was discussed. During the forum, a number of strategic agreements were reached, which are of great importance for the development of the economy of Uzbekistan and the entire region.
In cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the project "Development of the Private Sector and Support of Economic Policy" for 2026-2027 will be launched, and a grant of 3 million euros will be allocated for the development of entrepreneurship. At the same time, it was emphasized that GIZ will fully support this initiative if Uzbekistan takes steps to create a National Productivity Center aimed at developing a culture of efficiency at the national level.
Memorandums of cooperation aimed at expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the countries of Central Asia were signed with the Asian Productivity Organization, and an agreement was reached on the implementation of advanced German production standards at domestic enterprises.
In addition, the following cooperation agreements were signed during the forum:
• A memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan;
• A Memorandum of Understanding between Uzagrostar Holding and the German Productivity Center on organizing experience exchange programs based on German practices to increase productivity in the agricultural sector, as well as establishing cooperation with leading German research institutes;
• A Memorandum of Understanding between Uzagrostar Holding and on cooperation in organizing experience exchange programs and training on efficient use of resources and zero-waste production in food production and processing;
• A memorandum of cooperation with the Productivity Center of the Republic of Korea, as well as memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the field of productivity with the Rationalization and Innovation Center of the German economy.
A cooperation program between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, as well as the Tashkent Declaration on cooperation in the field of productivity in Central Asia, were adopted.
In addition, the winners of the creative video competition titled “Productivity Begins at School” were announced, and the innovative approaches of students who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places were recognized. The winners received travel vouchers to Germany, Japan, and Turkey.
Within the framework of the forum, the most efficient enterprises that achieved high results in the rational use of resources and optimization of production processes were awarded. Specialists who successfully completed a special training course on environmental management systems were awarded ISO 14001 international certificates.
During the regional dialogue session, representatives of Central Asian countries discussed ongoing reforms and prospects for cooperation. In order to ensure the practical implementation of the agreements reached, visits of international experts to the regions will be organized in the near future, and special training sessions for local entrepreneurs are planned.
On the second day of the forum, business visits to the Jizzakh and Samarkand regions were organized for participants, allowing them to closely ознакомиться with the activities of production facilities in the regions.
Within the framework of the international forum, participants visited a number of large industrial and manufacturing enterprises located in the Jizzakh region, where they became closely acquainted with the work being carried out to increase productivity, introduce modern technologies, and expand industrial cooperation in the regions.
During the visit, the activities of the following facilities were studied:
• The Uzbek–Chinese Special Industrial Zone — production capacities and the investment environment established on the basis of joint projects;
• factory — production processes of washing machines and vacuum cleaners, level of automation;
• Deya Confectionery Factory — production lines of modern confectionery products;
• ADM Jizzakh — a large manufacturing enterprise in the automotive industry.
This visit provided participants with the opportunity to study advanced practices in increasing production efficiency, introducing innovative solutions, and strengthening regional industrial capacity.
This forum became an important practical step towards increasing productivity in Central Asia, transitioning to a “green” economy, and further strengthening regional cooperation.
