These areas include the districts of Kungrad, Chimbay, Asaka, Gijduvan, Gallaaral, Yakkabag, Khatirchi, Chartak, Bulungur, Syrdarya, Denov, Quva, Shovot, and Khazarasp, as well as the cities of Yangiyul and Margilan.
The project is being implemented under the World Bank’s results-based financing instrument — Program for Results (PforR). Under this approach, financing is linked to the achievement of specific results and indicators, contributing to improved effectiveness of reforms implemented in the regions.
The main objective of the project is to create a favorable environment for residents to live and engage in entrepreneurial activities, improve existing infrastructure, and ensure sustainable regional development. In addition, the project envisages the development of social and production facilities (including kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and other important facilities), expansion of opportunities for producing high value-added products, and the provision of modern services. Introducing modern urban environments and living conditions to rural communities is also considered one of the key priorities.
The project implementation period is set for 2026–2030.
In this regard, a seminar within the framework of the project was held at the World Bank office in Tashkent.
The seminar was attended by the first deputy khokims of the 16 districts (cities) responsible for finance, economy, and poverty reduction, as well as deputy khokims responsible for construction, creation of a barrier-free environment, communications, public utilities, ecology, and landscaping.
