According to Sherzod Muhamedov, the value of the benefit will be raised by a rate no less than inflation.
"In 2022-2023, almost one in three families in the republic received child benefits. If we look at it by region, in most areas, 30 percent of families received assistance provided to low-income families. For this reason, it was not possible to increase the amount previously. However, measures were subsequently taken to improve the targeting of material assistance and to digitize the system. Now, the funds are paid only to families in need of social assistance. Many criteria for this have been updated. In 2025, the amount of child benefits was indexed. It was taken into account that, along with wages and pensions, it will be indexed at a rate no less than inflation," said the ministry representative.
In December 2023, the annual inflation rate in the country was 7.3 percent.
Sherzod Mehamedov reminded that the assistance funds paid by the state to low-income families are a supplement to the income people are earning.
"For example, pensioners receive a pension to live on. But one thing should not be forgotten: assistance funds are not being paid for similar purposes. They are being provided as additional support to earned income," the specialist said.
