In accordance with the "Uzbekistan 2030" Strategy, this serves as the official announcement regarding the launch of the first stage (Request for Qualifications - RfQ) of the international tender for the project to construct and manage the new "Yangi Bukhara" International Airport.
The project will be implemented on the basis of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Interested international companies and investors are invited to participate in the RfQ stage to pre-qualify for the subsequent tender phases.
JSC "Uzbekistan Airports," in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, intends to conduct international tender procedures to select a private partner for the implementation of the project "Construction and Management of the 'Yangi Bukhara' International Airport under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Terms" (the Project).
All interested and qualified companies with sufficient relevant experience are invited to participate. The selected private partner will be responsible for the construction and management of the new airport, ensuring it meets modern infrastructure requirements and international standards.
The site selected for this project is located in the Bukhara district of the Bukhara region. This initiative represents the first step toward transforming the "Yangi Bukhara" International Airport into a modern transport hub that meets international standards for the region. The project is designed to handle both domestic and international flights, serving not only as a connector for passengers traveling to destinations within Uzbekistan and abroad, but also as a vital link for enhancing the region's investment attractiveness and developing tourism and trade.
The implementation of this project will contribute to a further increase in the flow of visitors to the city of Bukhara, whose historic center was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993.
It is planned that the new airport will progressively expand its capacity to accommodate both scheduled and charter flights for airlines across Eurasia.
The project will include the following construction works:
- A new modern passenger terminal covering an area of 48,500 m², designed to handle 1,200 passengers per hour for international flights (both departures and arrivals) and 400 passengers per hour for domestic flights;
- Construction of a catering building, parking facilities, cargo handling areas, as well as landscaping of the airport precincts;
- Development of infrastructure facilities, including a refueling complex with an 8,000 cubic meter storage capacity, located on a 4-hectare site.
Under the framework of the project, the aerodrome facilities and public partner facilities will remain under the ownership and control of the public partner. The private partner will be responsible for the passenger terminal and its surrounding areas, the specialized equipment building, and the public catering complex.
