A training and practical seminar titled “Review of Budget Submissions” is being held

Within the framework of this Strategy, comprehensive efforts are currently underway to enhance public financial management, including improving the efficiency of budget expenditure, ensuring accurate accounting of public funds, and strengthening transparency. In this context, cooperation has been established with international organizations at various levels.
As part of these ongoing reforms, a training and practical workshop on “Review of Budget Submissions” is scheduled to be held from 27 to 30 January of the current year. The workshop is organized with the participation of independent experts from the International Monetary Fund, led by Imran Aziz and Gerhard Steger, and is aimed at strengthening the knowledge and practical skills of specialists of the Ministry’s central office in the field of budgeting.
For information, the workshop program includes an in-depth analysis of the processes for forming budgets within the budget system, with a particular focus on reviewing and assessing budget requests by expenditure type (current, capital, and administrative expenditures), prioritizing the health and education sectors. The agenda also covers general approaches to evaluation, the tools and methodologies applied in the assessment process, as well as ensuring compliance with approved expenditure ceilings through discussions and hands-on practical sessions.
Today, 27 January, marked the official launch of the practical workshop. Nearly 40 employees of the Ministry of Economy and Finance are taking part, engaging in discussions with IMF experts on the procedures for reviewing and analyzing budget requests, as well as on the role of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in this process.
In addition, the experts delivered presentations on the current state of budget request practices in Uzbekistan and their significance in improving the quality of budget planning and allocation of public funds.
