Press conference and media tour in Bukhara present outcomes of digital and inclusive education projects implemented with the support of the Ishonch Fund

In this context, a press tour and a press conference were organized with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, the United Nations Ishonch Fund Management Committee, as well as relevant ministries and agencies.
It should be noted that, to date, projects totaling USD 87 million have been launched through the Ishonch Fund in the areas of healthcare (including maternal and child health protection) and education. These initiatives focus on the development of ICT infrastructure, inclusive education, improvement of sanitary and hygienic conditions in schools, and modernization of heating systems.
As part of the press tour, participants visited Secondary School No. 1 in Romitan District, School No. 45 in the city of Bukhara, and the Bukhara Regional Center for Pedagogical Excellence, where they examined the learning and teaching conditions created for students and educators.
During the visit, delegation members were introduced to the activities of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence, including cascade training programs for teachers in digital education and STEM disciplines, as well as the integration of modern technologies into the educational process.
In the opening session, Khokim of Bukhara Region Botir Zaripov, representatives of the Ishonch Fund Management Committee, Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Azizbek Turdiev, and the Director of the Bukhara Regional Center for Pedagogical Excellence presented information on the project’s implementation and its impact on improving the quality of education.
Following the site visits, a press conference was held with the participation of media representatives and members of the public. Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Otabek Fazilkarimov, Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan Konstantin Obolensky, and UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabine Mahl took part in the event and responded to questions from journalists and civil society representatives.
After the press conference, the Ishonch Fund Management Committee held discussions on priority areas for projects to be financed under the next tranche of funds.
The visit, initiated by the Ishonch Fund Management Committee, served as an effective platform to demonstrate the tangible results of the ongoing reforms and reaffirmed that the returned assets are being utilized transparently and in the best interests of the people of Uzbekistan.
