Employees of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Tashkent region, together with the Department of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region, conducted raids in the coastal zone of the Chirchik River flowing through the territory of the Kuyichirchik district.

During the raid, the fact of illegal extraction of a sand and gravel mixture with the help of special equipment and a truck with the license plate "01 M 019830" was established.

When studying the situation, it turned out that the sand-gravel mixture was extracted for the stone crushing plant of the "M.G.F." enterprise located in this area.

According to the requirements of the Regulation approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 666 "On improving the procedure for calculating damage caused to natural objects during illegal extraction of non-metallic materials" dated November 23, 2022, as a result of this situation, damage to nature amounted to 65 billion 323 million 200 sums.

Special equipment was temporarily placed in a parking lot in the Kuyichirchik district. The collected documents on the case were sent to the prosecutor's office of the Tashkent region for a legal assessment of the situation.

For information: according to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to streamline the extraction of non-metallic materials in reservoirs", since May 1, 2024, an indefinite moratorium on the extraction of non-metallic materials has been in effect in the beds of the Chirchik, Sangzar, Zarafshan, Naryn, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Syrdarya rivers.
