At the ICT Expo 2025, taking place on September 23–26 at the CAEx Uzbekistan exhibition center, Mobiuz will present 5.5G technology based on 28 GHz (mmWave) radio frequency bands for the first time in Central Asia.
In the Wave of Innovations
5.5G is regarded as the next stage in the evolution of mobile networks. Its key feature is the use of millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies, which enable mobile internet speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s and ensure high throughput in areas with heavy network demand.
The first demonstration of this innovative technology reflects Mobiuz’s philosophy of “Uniting people and heading towards the future with innovations.” In line with the Uzbekistan – 2030 strategy, the company continues to implement the state program for the digitalization of the economy and regions.
This year, Mobiuz was recognized for leading mobile internet speed and network stability in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. The operator has also introduced 5G networks in the cities of the Fergana Valley.
How Does 5.5G (mmWave) Work?
According to the Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), more than 200 operators in 56 advanced countries are investing in 5.5G with mmWave. With its demonstration at ICT Expo 2025, Mobiuz joins this group.
The presentation will be conducted at the company’s stand, in cooperation with Huawei. For testing purposes, the Republican Council on Radio Frequencies allocated temporary resources in the n257 band (26.50–29.50 GHz). The 400 MHz bandwidth enables simultaneous data processing at gigabit speeds with minimal latency. Globally, 5.5G mmWave is deployed in high-traffic areas to maximize efficiency.
First Demonstration – Then Implementation
The commercial rollout of 5.5G by Mobiuz mobile operator is only a matter of time. The company annually demonstrates new technological solutions for Uzbekistan, tests them, and then actively applies them in its operations.
Mobiuz has a track record of introducing new technologies through demonstrations before full-scale deployment. In 2022, the company showcased VoLTE and ViLTE technologies at ICT Expo, later becoming the first in Uzbekistan to launch VoLTE in June 2023 and implementing ViLTE nationwide in October 2023.
Through cooperation with Huawei, Mobiuz is now preparing for the era of 5.5G in Uzbekistan, reinforcing the country’s position at the forefront of regional digital transformation and readiness to adopt advanced technological solutions.
Mobiuz invites everyone to ICT Expo 2025! The exhibition and AKT Week events will be held at the CAEx Uzbekistan exhibition center.
