Swedish Delegation Discusses Prospects for Digital Cooperation with IT Park Uzbekistan

A delegation led by Camilla Mellander, Director General of the Trade Policy Department at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited IT Park Uzbekistan to examine the country's digital development agenda and explore prospects for cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
The Swedish representatives were briefed on the structure and operations of IT Park, current digital infrastructure projects, and key milestones in Uzbekistan’s ICT sector. The delegation also familiarized itself with the activities of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and national digital integrator "UZINFOCOM".
Uzbekistan’s ambitions to position itself as an international IT hub were presented in detail, including ongoing digital transformation initiatives and technological solutions such as MYID Vision and MYID Palm.
As part of the visit, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Kamilla Mellander to discuss policy frameworks supporting the digital economy. The minister highlighted key national programs such as Zero Risk, tax preferences for IT Park residents, and the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative, which offers legal safeguards for foreign investors.
Ms. Mellander commended Uzbekistan's progress in digitalization and noted Sweden’s positive assessment of the country’s reform agenda.
The dialogue covered startup development, investment opportunities for tech ventures in Uzbekistan, and potential cooperation in accessing innovation platforms and exhibition venues in Sweden.
Concluding the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral engagement in the ICT sector and fostering a stable, long-term partnership based on shared interests and innovation-driven growth.
