TUIT launches "Engineering Month"

Today, on April 8, the official opening ceremony of the “Engineering Month” was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
As part of this “Engineering Month”, the final stage of the “Oliygoh Cup” competition and an exhibition of innovative developments were organized.
This event was organized within the framework of the implementation of the initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his meeting with young people on February 14, 2025.
The event presented innovative projects developed by students and researchers in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, drone technologies, cybersecurity, software products, computer games and educational technologies.
The event was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Kungirotboy Sharipov, and within the framework of the exhibition, issues of commercialization of youth developments, development of startup projects and establishment of partnerships with technology companies were discussed. Negotiations were also held on a number of cooperation agreements.
In the final stage of the “Oliygoh Cup” competition, the best startup projects were selected by a jury. The winners were awarded with souvenirs and development grants within the framework of a total prize fund of 150 million soums.
Also, a ceremony was held to award the winners of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Beruniy and Islam Karimov State Scholarships, the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Scholarships, and the “Most Active Student of the Year” Republican Competition, who were interested in scientific research activities, spiritual and educational work, had an independent mind, and were able to demonstrate their abilities during their studies at the university.
This event was not only a way to support innovative thinkers, but also an important step towards bringing their ideas to the attention of the general public, strengthening direct ties with investors, and developing the technological environment.
