Uzbekistan and VEON Group discuss development of telecommunications infrastructure

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu in Barcelona to discuss the development of Uzbekistan’s telecommunications sector and opportunities for expanded cooperation in mobile communications.
Amid the rapid growth of digital services and increasing Internet access, the discussions focused on the development of modern infrastructure and the improvement of services available to the population.
The meeting also covered initiatives to develop Uzbekistan's international data centers.
In addition, the parties discussed preparations for the “Mobile 360 Eurasia 2025” international conference and exhibition, scheduled to take place in Tashkent on May 21–22, 2025.
