President: Uzbekistan must elevate the export of remote services to a new level

At a recent meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, key priorities for the development of the serviceы sector were discussed. The Head of state stressed the importance of expanding the export of services beyond the technical fields and stressed the need to promote accounting, consulting, insurance, legal and other professional services in international markets.
The officials were instructed to analyze the import and requirements of services of foreign countries, adapt educational programs to this and train relevant specialists.
In addition, $50 million has been allocated this year to support start-up projects in the creative economy.
As an example of local talent driving global success, the meeting highlighted Beknazar Abdukamolov, a former Amazon employee who returned to Nukus and secured a $3 million investment from Facebook for his startup project. Today his assets are valued at $15 million.
It was noted that hundreds of young Uzbek professionals are currently employed by the world's leading IT companies. The Ministry of Digital Technologies has been tasked with promoting cooperation with these specialists to launch new startup ventures.
In general, it was emphasized that by 2025, the volume of IT services should increase by 30%, to 80 trillion soums, and exports to $1 billion.
