Tashkent hosts Final Stage of Yandex Cup for the first time

This event is taking place at the CAEX exhibition complex in Tashkent and features 200 of the most talented programmers from 18 countries.
Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov opened the event, addressing participants and guests about the significant opportunities in Uzbekistan's IT sector. In his speech, the minister encouraged young programmers to engage in international collaboration and emphasized the role of such events in advancing the country's digital potential. He remarked that hosting the Yandex Cup in Tashkent demonstrates Uzbekistan's growing prominence in the global IT community.
The Yandex Cup is an international competition that brings together participants from diverse fields, including programming, mathematics, analytics, and artificial intelligence. This year, over 20,000 programmers from 90 countries applied to compete, with only the best making it to the final stage in Tashkent.
The competition features six categories:
• Analytics
• Front-end programming
• Back-end programming
• Mobile programming
• Machine learning
• Algorithmic (sports) programming
Finalists will face complex challenges, with top performers earning prizes. The total prize pool for the competition is 1.95 billion soums. The event’s final stage is available for live viewing via the link at yandex.ru/cup/2024.
