2.International Conference Explores the “New Social Contract, from the Perspective of Trade Unions in Europe and Central Asia”

An international conference titled "New Social Contract: Perspectives from Trade Unions of Europe and Central Asia" was convened in our capital through cooperation between the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and the International Labor Organization. The conference’s plenary session was presided over by Qudratilla Rafikov, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.
Participants included the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, along with experts from various countries, heads of trade unions, and representatives of international organizations.
Throughout the conference, attendees addressed pressing issues such as promoting social justice across the regions of Europe and Central Asia, enhancing stability in labor markets, and safeguarding employee rights. Additionally, participants shared perspectives on shaping new social contracts amid technological advancements and digital transformation.
A panel discussion was also held on "The Impact of Technological Changes", during which Sherzod Shermatov provided in-depth insights into the "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy and the steps being taken for its realization. He elaborated on the influence of digital transformation on the economy and highlighted opportunities to drive national development through innovative technologies.
This event serves as a platform for fostering a deeper understanding of the interplay between technology and social contracts in society and for promoting new initiatives aimed at digital and social progress in the country.
