A conference in Astana, held under the auspices of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program, focused on exploring the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing climate change challenges. The meeting brought together representatives from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and the private sector to discuss critical issues such as "Reducing carbon emissions" and "Weather forecasting and sustainable agricultural development".
Kamola Sobirova, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, presented the Ministry's new strategy during the panel session. Key issues, including the implementation of innovative solutions to combat climate change and the strengthening of regional cooperation, were thoroughly examined by the participants.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, the President of Uzbekistan issued a Decree approving the "Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030". This decision underscores Uzbekistan's commitment to promoting advances in AI as a tool for sustainable development.
