Ministry Discusses Measures to Expand Women's Participation in the IT Sector

The initiative forms part of the implementation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan's policies aimed at empowering women, strengthening their role in society, and creating greater opportunities for them to realize their full potential. These efforts are increasingly reflected in the country's rapidly growing digital economy.
The meeting focused on increasing women's participation in the IT industry, supporting talented and promising professionals, promoting their achievements, and strengthening cooperation among relevant organizations.
Participants emphasized the importance of regularly informing women about existing support mechanisms, educational opportunities, grant and certification programs, and state awards available to encourage professional growth.
The discussions also covered proposals to establish a unified database of women working in the ICT sector, improve coordination among stakeholders, and promote greater participation in fields where women remain underrepresented, including space technologies and cybersecurity.
In addition, participants explored opportunities to expand cooperation with leading educational institutions and international organizations to encourage more girls and young women to pursue careers in emerging technology fields.
The meeting brought together women professionals from the Ministry of Digital Technologies and sectoral organizations, as well as relevant experts. Participants exchanged views and presented practical proposals aimed at further strengthening women's role in Uzbekistan's digital transformation.
