Uzbekistan Becomes a Founding Member of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO)

On July 16, the official signing ceremony of the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) was held with the participation of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, ministers and official delegations from the organization's founding member states, as well as representatives of international organizations and the diplomatic community.
On behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agreement was signed by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov.
WAICO has been established to strengthen international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, facilitate the exchange of advanced technologies and best practices, and promote common approaches to the safe, responsible, and inclusive development and use of AI.
By joining the initiative as a founding member, Uzbekistan reaffirms its commitment to expanding international collaboration in artificial intelligence and contributing to the development of a global AI ecosystem.
The country's participation in WAICO is expected to further strengthen international partnerships, accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies and expertise, and support Uzbekistan's long-term strategy to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
