In June, the «ICT4Girls” Olympiad in Informatics was held for schoolgirls across Uzbekistan, with a special boot camp organized for the 12 winners.
At the end of the boot camp, a competition was held, and four girls were selected to represent Uzbekistan in the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI).
The national team of Uzbekistan, consisting of four girls, arrived in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on July 21 to participate in the European Girls' Olympiad. About 200 representatives from 57 countries are competing in this prestigious event held from July 21-27. Participants are tasked with solving several algorithmic and problem-solving challenges within a specified time.
During the Olympiad, the girls are not only enhancing their programming skills but also developing soft skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and intercultural communication.
The talented girls representing Uzbekistan at EGOI are:
- Zarnigor Rakhimova (Bukhara region)
- Aysha Mirzatillayeva (Tashkent city)
- Malika Khojamuratova (Republic of Karakalpakstan)
- Salikha Dagarova (Samarkand region)
This year's “ICT4Girls” Olympiad and Uzbekistan's participation in the European Girls' Olympiad are organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Center for the Development of Digital Education, in close cooperation with Amity University, Uzum, and Ucell in Tashkent.
We wish the best of luck to these girls representing Uzbekistan.
