Uzbekistan has intensified efforts to develop its information technology sector, including the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Hub grounded in innovation and knowledge. More than 200 artificial intelligence projects are currently being implemented across key sectors of the economy.
Comprehensive regional programs are underway to expand data center capacity, deploy supercomputing infrastructure, and establish artificial intelligence laboratories. In parallel, large-scale initiatives are being implemented to train a new generation of specialists under the “Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders” program.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that international partners, particularly the Asian Development Bank, as well as partners from the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China, are actively supporting these areas.
Priority attention is being given to the application of open artificial intelligence models in sectors critical to public welfare, including education, healthcare, water management, environmental protection, and food security.
In this context, Uzbekistan has proposed the development of a dedicated program under the auspices of the Asian Development Bank to accelerate the adoption and scaling of artificial intelligence technologies in developing countries.
Furthermore, the country announced its participation in the “Digital Highway for Asia” initiative and has put forward a proposal to establish a regional coordination center in Tashkent, reinforcing its role as an emerging hub for digital innovation in the region.
