Meeting with Compatriots in the US to Attract Foreign Specialists to the National IT Ecosystem

During the meeting, Minister Sherzod Shermatov provided a comprehensive overview of the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at developing the digital economy, outlined priority directions, and highlighted prospects for international cooperation. Information was also presented regarding the favorable conditions being established for the IT sector, startup support mechanisms, and initiatives designed to enhance the country's export potential.
Subsequently, Azamat Karamatov, General Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation on the organization's activities, its core objectives, and the results achieved in recent years. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of IT Park in promoting innovation, increasing the volume of IT service exports, and strengthening international partnerships.
The event further featured an overview of cooperation opportunities available under the "Uzbekistan Connect" program. It was underscored that the program is aimed at advancing international cooperation, attracting investment, expanding IT service exports, and supporting startups and young professionals through the engagement of compatriots as "Tech Ambassadors". Participants were also informed about professional networking opportunities, the establishment of contacts with international partners, and practical assistance in the implementation of various initiatives.
In the course of the meeting, compatriots put forward a number of proposals directed at further strengthening cooperation. Among the key initiatives announced were: the launch of digital platforms and online education solutions, the reinforcement of practical collaboration between universities and businesses, the expansion of international internship and training programs, the promotion of IT products in foreign markets, the development of outsourcing and back-office services, the support of startups and investment projects, the improvement of digital trade and logistics, as well as labor market adaptation and the development of new competencies in the context of artificial intelligence.
