International Students from the United States Explore Uzbekistan’s Digital Ecosystem

The visit commenced with a presentation on the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan. The guests were provided with detailed information on the modern infrastructure established within the IT Park, the startup support system, incentives available to resident companies, and ongoing reforms aimed at developing the national IT sector. Particular attention was given to the attraction of international companies, the expansion of export-oriented IT services, and the opportunities created for young professionals.
The delegation subsequently visited UZINFOCOM, where specialists presented key state information systems, digital platforms, e-government services, and major digitalization projects being implemented across the country. The role of these initiatives in public administration and socio-economic development was highlighted.
At the conclusion of the visit, a meeting was held with the participation of the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov. During the discussion, the Minister outlined ongoing efforts to advance the IT sector, expand digital education, support the startup ecosystem, and strengthen international cooperation.
The students raised a number of questions related to Uzbekistan’s IT market, digital education, startup opportunities, digital economy policies, and international collaboration. Comprehensive responses were provided, followed by an exchange of views.
The visit enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of digital technologies, the development of IT infrastructure, and the opportunities available to young people.
