President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the results achieved in the development of digital technologies and the key objectives set for 2026.
The presentation noted that Uzbekistan has been consistently implementing large-scale measures to develop the digital economy, expand electronic public services, and form a sustainable innovation ecosystem. According to assessments by international experts, the total value of the national startup and venture ecosystem reached USD 3.9 billion in 2024–2025. The number of domestic startups exceeded 750, while 15 venture funds are currently operating in the country, with total venture capital exceeding USD 180 million.
Uzbekistan was recognized as the second fastest-growing startup ecosystem globally and the fastest in Central Asia.
By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of startups to 5,000, the number of startups entering international markets to 200, and the volume of venture investments to USD 2 billion. To achieve these targets, a four-stage startup support system based on international best practices is being introduced, covering the stages of idea development, product creation, market entry, and scaling. The system provides grant financing, tax incentives, co-financing mechanisms, and reimbursement of export-related expenses.
Special attention was given to the further development of electronic government services. It is planned to increase the number of digital public services to 900, expand the functionality of the MyGov.uz mobile application, introduce artificial intelligence technologies in more than 50 services, create a Unified Population Register, and ensure the full digitalization of procedures related to business registration, individual entrepreneurship, issuance of bank cards and SIM cards, as well as access to insurance and advertising services.
The presentation also covered the ongoing development of infrastructure for artificial intelligence technologies. A modern small-scale supercomputer has already been commissioned, while work on the acquisition and launch of a large-scale supercomputer is underway. Within this framework, artificial intelligence laboratories will be established at 15 higher education institutions, the professional capacity of specialists will be strengthened, and conditions will be created for the development and implementation of domestic AI solutions.
The need to further expand the network of modern data centers in the regions and ensure the security and reliability of data storage and processing was emphasized.
In addition, the development of telecommunications infrastructure was discussed. It was noted that the sector continues to demonstrate stable growth, with annual increases in internet speed and coverage and improvements in the quality of mobile communications. In 2026, further deployment of 5G technologies, expansion of high-speed internet access in populated areas, and wider use of satellite communications are planned.
The President emphasized that digital technologies play a decisive role in increasing the competitiveness of economic sectors, improving the efficiency of public administration, and enhancing the quality of life of the population, and instructed relevant authorities to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the outlined measures.
