Cabinet of Ministers Approves Resolution to Expand Youth Engagement in IT and Artificial Intelligence

Under the resolution, the “Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders” initiative will be launched as a logical continuation of the “One Million Programmers” project within the framework of the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy.
As part of the initiative, a nationwide competition will be organized to motivate young people and educators. Participants demonstrating the highest performance will be awarded as follows:
100 teachers — cash awards equivalent to USD 1,000 each;
10 teachers — international travel vouchers;
500 young people — laptop computers;
500 young people — valuable gifts;
3 universities — cash prizes;
2 secondary schools — “President’s Gift” in the form of electric vehicles.
In addition, the “Muhammad al-Khwarizmi” project will be gradually implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and across all regions of the country. The initiative will provide young people with free education in information technology, startup management and foreign languages, access to international IT certification, and opportunities to participate in national and international contests and competitions.
